Welcome back for Term 3!
I hope that you all had a lovely relaxing Easter break and are ready for another busy term.
Please note the following for the upcoming term.
GAA:
This term sees the return of the Cumann na mBunscol GAA competitions.
We have a boys and a girls team entered in the competition.
On Tuesday, the boys team play host to Cushinstown NS in their first outing. The match takes place here at Mount Hanover NS and is scheduled for a 1.30pm throw in. All support welcome.
The girls game was due to take place on Thursday April 12th at 1.30pm here in the school but it has been postponed until further notice.
The amalgamated team of Mount Hanover/Bellewstown have their next game in the Corn Cois Farraige on Friday April 13th at 12.30 in Walterstown.
We wish the boys and girls and their mentors, Ms. O’Donnell and Gavin Flood all the best for the upcoming games.
Sacraments:
The sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated for the children in 6th class on Friday April 27th at 11 am. We wish the children and their teacher well as they make their final preparations.
First Holy Communion takes place on Saturday May 19th at 11 am for the children in 2nd class.
Staff Training:
The school will close at 12 noon on Friday May 4th to facilitate staff training in the area of Child Protection.
The school will be CLOSED on Friday May 25th to facilitate whole staff training in the Primary Language Curriculum.
Non-Uniform Days:
The Parents Association will be holding their Non-Uniform Days every Friday in Term 3. They will begin on Friday April 13th at a cost of €1 per child.
School tracksuits to be worn on PE days only. Full school uniform to be worn on every other day.
Standardised Tests:
Standardised testing will take place for the children in 1st- 6th class on the following dates:
- English: May 1st, 2nd & 3rd.
- Maths: May 29th, 30th & 31st.
School Tours:
The whole school tour has been provisionally booked for Tuesday June 5th to Dublin Zoo. Please inform the class teacher if you’re child will not be in attendance as soon as possible.
The 6th Class Tour has been booked for Causey Farm on Monday June 18th.
End of Year Mass:
The End of Year Mass/6th Class Graduation Mass will be celebrated in the school hall on Friday June 15th at 11 am. All are welcome to attend.
