Active School Flag

🏅 Active School Flag Success at Mount Hanover NS! 🏅

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Mount Hanover National School has been awarded the Active School Flag!

This fantastic achievement reflects the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment of our entire school community. The Active School Flag is awarded to schools that strive to provide a physically educated and physically active school environment, and we are incredibly proud to have achieved this recognition.

A special word of thanks must go to our outstanding Active School Committee, who led this initiative throughout the year:
Leo Brodigan, Archie King, Anna McGuinness, James Toner, Emilee Rose Crosby, Adam McEnteggart, Emma Moore, Kayleigh Stacey and Tom Kelly.

The committee met once every month to discuss and organise a wide range of initiatives aimed at increasing physical activity and promoting a positive attitude towards health and wellbeing across the school. Their ideas, leadership and dedication helped make many successful projects possible, including:

⭐ Skip Around the World
⭐ Active Break Every Day
⭐ Active School Week
⭐ Music on the Yard
⭐ Playground Activities and Leadership Opportunities
⭐ Development and Promotion of our New Active School Walkway

This award was truly a whole-school effort, with pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community all playing an important role in helping us achieve our goal.

We are extremely proud of all our pupils, whose enthusiasm and participation were at the heart of every initiative. Their willingness to get involved, stay active and encourage one another helped create a positive and energetic school environment for everyone.

This is a huge achievement for Mount Hanover NS and one that we are very proud of. The Active School Flag will remain with our school for the next three years, after which it will be renewed. While we are delighted to celebrate this success, we are equally excited to continue building on the excellent work already completed.

Going forward, we will continue to provide opportunities for all pupils to be active, healthy and engaged, ensuring that Mount Hanover NS remains as active as possible for years to come.

Well done to everyone involved!

Basketball Kits

Thank You to Jons Civil Engineering

A huge thank you to Jons Civil Engineering for their very generous sponsorship of a brand-new set of basketball kits and warm-up tops for our school basketball team.

Next school year, we are hoping to enter a team into a league, and this sponsorship is a fantastic boost for our pupils as they continue to develop their skills and represent our school with pride.

Yesterday, some of our pupils visited Jons Civil Engineering to say thank you and to get a few photos with our sponsors. We would also like to thank the children and parents who came along and helped make the visit so special.

The staff at Jons Civil Engineering gave our pupils a lovely welcome and very kindly treated them to goodie bags and ice cream.

We are extremely grateful to Jons Civil Engineering for their kindness, generosity and support of our school community.
