As you are aware the boys 5-a-side soccer team have qualified for the National Finals in the Aviva Stadium on May 11th.
This is the first time the school has reached this stage of the competition and we are all very excited.
The details of the day are as follows:
Registration and team photos take place from 10.30am.
Games begin at 11.30am sharp.
We will be competing against Croom NS, Limerick, Carn NS, Sligo, Scoil an Choimin, Donegal.
Spar and FAI are encouraging schools to try and bring the whole school to join in on the occasion if possible. They are also welcoming as many parents, family members and supporters as possible on the day to show their support to the participating teams.
As you know there will be plenty to play for with everyone a winner on the day. A DJ, face painting, samba drummers and fun prize giveaways have been organised for the day.
BEST SUPPORTED SCHOOL COMPETITION
There will be a prize for the best supported School on the day. Be loud and proud! Schools are encouraged to bring flags, banners and face paints to ensure an electric and colourful event. Get practicing your chants and school song now!
FUTURE SPORTS JOURNALIST COMPETITION
Spar and FAI also have a wonderful competition for our non-playing scholars. Students are asked to report on their teams Aviva Stadium experience or match report of games. The School will decide on the best report for those submitted to be sent into SPAR for a prize of a lifetime. Only 1 report per School will be permitted.
Please note there is an admission fee on entry to the grounds. Adults €5 and children €2. If supporter’s buses are travelling to the event, we would request that the supervising teachers collect the entry fee from the students and/or parents to ensure entry to the Stadium is swift for large travelling parties. Entry via the podium entrance of the stadium on Lansdowne Lane (Orange Route).
Once we return to school on Wednesday, more details regarding supporters buses etc will be available.
