This week saw the return of the FAI 5-a-side competition.
On Monday, the girls team were in action under the guidance of Mr. Ruddy. The girls were playing in Section A of the competition and were in a group of 4. The other teams in their group were St. Finian’s, Dunsany and Rathregan NS.
Despite a spirited performance from the girls, it wasn’t to be their day. We are very proud of the team for their excellent effort on the day.
On Friday it was the boys turn. They were playing in Section B of the competition this year. Section B is for medium sized schools (based on total number of boys enrolled in 4th/5th/6th class).
The boys were playing against Kildalkey NS and Wilkinstown NS. The group went down to the wire and unfortunately the team didn’t progress from the group on goal difference! It’s heartbreaking to miss out due to goal difference but that’s the nature of sport.
Well done to all the children involved and a big thank you to Mr. Ruddy and Mrs. Kennedy for all their hard work and dedication!
