The children in 3rd /4th Class visited Duleek Library today for the visit of children’s author Jackie Burke. She wrote the series ‘The Secrets of Grindlewood’. We listened to excerpts from her stories and she asked us questions.
We then heard how she became an author, where she got the ideas for her characters, and some writing tips and ideas.
Finally we had a question and answer session at the end and Jackie was very impressed with the interesting questions, with some children receiving a signed poster for their questioning. We all had a great time and look forward to reading her books.
