Upcoming Fundraiser

Dear parents/guardians,

Please see details of an upcoming fundraiser. This fundraiser is in memory of Emily O’Reilly RIP, a past pupil of Mount Hanover NS.

Background:
On the 3rd December 2020 we lost our wonderful Ems to an illness known as Aplastic Anaemia. Over two years with incomparable positivity and unwavering strength of character she lived with the illness but continued her zest for life with laughter, enthusiasm, concern for others and lots and lots of musicals.

To help raise funds for The Anthony Nolan Trust and the Aplastic Anemia Trust in memory of our beautiful friend Emily on what would have been her 36th Birthday on April 11th, we are inviting you to join us and support “Emily’s Wicked walk to the West End” over the weekend of the 9th-11th April.

The plan is to complete a virtual walk from Emily’s home in Beamore, Co. Meath to her favourite place, the West End in London. We are asking everyone to complete a 5km walk at any time, on any of the days, over the weekend of the 9th – 11th April and make a donation to our GoFundMe. Please share your Kms with us and we will compile the the total distance  covered – our target is 638km. This way all ages can take part and make your daily walk a fantastic fundraising activity.

If walking is not your thing you can complete with a run, a cycle, a swim or whatever gets the most kilometres so we can make it to the West End.

The theme is Emily’s favourite musical Wicked so please wear green while getting those steps & Kms in. We would really love if you could take as many pictures/short videos of you completing your walk and post them to social media using #emilyswickedwalk . We will put together a video (with some amazing showtunes of course) of us all doing our bit together.

Thank you!
