The school tour takes place on June 16th.
This is a whole school trip to W5.
W5 is Ireland’s award winning science and discovery centre at Odyssey in Belfast. It has over 250 interactive exhibits and a changing programme of events, shows and exhibitions.
The W5 is located on the bank of the River Lagan at the Odyssey Arena.
The pupils will visit the four exhibition areas and participate in live science demonstrations.
The cost of the tour is €17 per pupil.
The Junior Classes (Junior Infants-2nd Class) will participate in “Busy Builders”. In this fun workshop pupils investigate different structures and how they are made. They look at buildings, towers and bridges and the materials used to construct them. To finish, the mini engineers compete in teams to build the best tower in the shortest time.
The Senior Classes (3rd-6th class) will participate in “Scrapheap Scramble”. This is an inventive workshop that challenges teams of pupils to design and build a buggy from the sort of things most of us throw away. After each contraption is complete, they will be tested to see who has made the best and the biggest pile of rubbish!
