Sports Day was held in Scoil Cholmcille today.
This year we got our team names from the upcoming Rugby World Cup. We had 9 teams in total, Italy with Marco as team leader, Wales with Danny as team leader, South Africa with Clodagh as leader, Australia with Armelle as leader, France with Meadhbh as leader, New Zealand with Oisín as leader, England with Roisín as leader, Scotland with Chloe as leader and Ireland with Caitlín as leader.
Each team leader made a flag for their team and led the teams out onto the playing pitch for the all important events.
In the morning session we had:
- Over/Under Beanbags
- Relay race
- Target throws
- Golf
- Sack races
- Ball dribbling races
The second session saw the children competing in:
- Egg and spoon race
- Javelin throws
- Swimming race
- Water race
The final session of the day saw the children compete in the obstacle course.
