Our Classroom News!

Welcome Back!!

Welcome back to all our students as we begin Term 2. We have a busy term ahead!

The 6th class children will celebrate their Confirmation on March 1st

We will be closed on Monday February 6th for the Bank Holiday and on Thursday February 16th & Friday February 17th for the Mid-Term Break.

Please note that Wednesday February 15th is a normal school day with home times unchanged.

Date for your Diary!!

Training Day: The school will be closed to pupils on Friday April 21st to facilitate training in the Primary Language Curriculum (PLC). This is a whole day closure.

Christmas Wishes

On behalf of the BOM and all our school staff I would like to wish everyone in our school community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I would like to thank everyone for their support and cooperation during the year. In particular I would like to say well done to our pupils and our school staff who have worked very hard throughout the year. I would also like to thank our parents who have supported the school every step of the way.

School Re-Opening 2022

Looking forward to seeing all our students on Tuesday August 30th at 8.50 am.

Some gentle reminders as we return to school:

  • Our school day is 8.50 am – 2.30 pm. Infant home time is 1.30 pm. Our breaks are 10.40 – 11.00 and 12.30 – 12.50.
  • The children in Junior Infants will go home at 12 noon until Friday September 9th. From Monday September 12th, they will go home at 1.30 pm.
  • Parents are reminded to drop and go in the morning time.
  • The school opens for children at 8.50 am. Official teaching time begins at 9.05 am. Please ensure your child is on time for school. It is important to establish good routines from Day 1!!
  • Please ensure that your child has their books and copies with them on Day 1 (as per booklists issued). All items should be clearly labelled.

School Holidays!

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely summer break. As always, thank you very much for your support this school year. It is very much appreciated.

A special word of thanks to our wonderful staff here in Mount Hanover. It is an absolute pleasure to work with such a dedicated group of people who always go above and beyond for the children.

School Mural

Just in time- we finally finished our school mural! Thank you so much to the painters- Megan, Aran, Lucy, May and Frieda. It will look wonderful on the GP room wall. Happy Summer Holidays everyone.

Healthy Eating Policy:

At Scoil Cholmcille, we have a healthy eating policy. The children are encouraged to eat fruit and veg. Sweets, chocolate, biscuits and crisps are not allowed in school.

As Scoil Cholmcille is a NUT FREE SCHOOL, we would ask that parents do not give their children nut products for lunch.
